personal front: in the past month i have run the full gamut of emotions. i was horribly unhappy at work and it began to seep into my home life. i quit my job, was offered a partnership, and ultimately ended up buying the practice i've overseen for some amount of years - i don't have to move. i finally know what it means to be walking on sunshine. i don't know if the feeling will last, but i haven't felt this happy in some time. my optimism is un-containable. at the same time, however, its scary as hell! the dollar amounts laid out in the contract don't even seem real. i can't wait to see happens. i may be selling tacos this time next year, but the payoff could be more than i've ever hoped for.
rendering front: i posted a few gripes over on the daz forum that immediately got wiped, so i will surmise here in order of pants on fireness.
first i'm rather sick of getting a clothing product or cloth shader with ambience or emitter values. cloth (or skin for that matter) does not emit light in its default state. if its some sort of sci-fi material or alien skin, well then ok. but otherwise just no.
second: the the uppermost folder in the library is out of control. we have an architecture folder and then an environments/architecture folder. we have a shader folder, and a shader presets folder. there are several other instances where redundancies like this occur. sometimes it can make stuff hard to find. the poser library folder has ten categories in its uppermost library folder; that should be enough. yes i could move them around myself, but most, if not all at this point, were DIM installed so may make uninstalling a bit of a pain.
third, and i'm not so pants on fire about this, is the amount of content they released with m7. i know male content doesn't sell as well as that for females so the old adage about demand and supply does apply. i love the m7 model love the hair, love his bends. i just wish they'd pushed a little further with him. there were only 3 or 4 products that were must haves for me. i got a bit excited this morning because i saw a male character on the front of the daz shop page, but no. its for genesis 2 male.
so thats about it for the two most important things in my life: work and 3d art. monday will begin a new era for me, and i may not be quite so present here on DA for the next few months. i never delete anything out of my deviant watchlist before looking at it, and i do plan to look at all of it when i can come back up for air. please forgive me if my comments or faves are weeks or maybe even months late
happy holidays to everyone. i hope you have a safe time. don't be stupid when partaking of the holiday cheer of your choice

Everything I can't show elsewhere...uncensored versions, immodest versions, a little bit of kink (ok, maybe more than a little bit).

a million emotions all at once!
i feel like an alien is going to claw its way out of my chest.
i'm putting this out on DA because of all the lovely, wonderful, talented folk that i've come across, and also because i've already talked the ears off all of my non-internet friends. you don't even have to read this, but it will explain why i haven't been all that present here on DA in the past month - i still try to look at all the submissions on my watch-list, but as for renders...nope, none of that :D
i quit my job...sort of. that is to say i meant to quit my job. don't worry, i have a backup plan. i'm a tax accountant by trade, but enjoy the tax side more than the accountin
Does anyone know...
of a character mat (m4, genesis male, or genesis 2 male) with brows similar to this:
i tried to find a better reference pic, darren criss came to mind, but i kinda want a straighter, blockier brow that doesn't reach to far to the sides of the face/head. i've tried going through all of the characters at daz and rendo, but that is dizzying. i've also tried creating my own, but, well, no (poor, poor enzo caught hell.)
maybe it can be done with face morphs? i dunno.
please tell me so i can stop obsessing over it!
edit: like this, sorta

Wouldn't it be nice...
...if we could wear our hearts on our sleeve?
My not so original motto has always been "Fake it til you make it." You have to be social when all you want to be is a hermit. You have to be nice when you feel like kicking someone in the shin. You have to be in a good mood when you want to crawl under your bed. Moods change but often they don't coincide with your current situation. You put on your mask and wait for the world to pass so you can get to where you want. This can be tiresome and tedious.
I let my mask slip at a client meeting the other day, but just a little. It was still noticed. A comment at the following lunch alerte
Alive and Twitching
i always feel a bit conceited writing an entry, but this is more of an update for my fellow deviants to let them know i am here lurking - usually in 3 minute intervals.
my work involves personal and small business tax/payroll/accounting consultation and i've recently picked up several new contracts that i can ride on through til the end of april. the pro is that it means more cash for my rendering habit; the main con, and there are more than a few, is that i have no time for anything but work. out the door by 7:30am and i usually stagger back at around 10:30pm. i'm eating horribly, drinking too much caffeine and i've picked up the nicotine h
